2018 Individual Client Tax Return Checklist – What to bring with you for your appointment

Tax time

At JSM Accounting, we are all about the client and providing exceptional customer service.  What better way to assist our clients, then by providing them with some tools to be able to prepare for their next tax appointment.

We understand that this time of year can be daunting and leave you feeling out of sorts! To assist our clients (and future clients!) in preparing for their appointment, we have collated all the general information that you should bring with you to your tax return appointment.

This information is broken down into categories:  Income items, Deduction items and general items.  The checklist isn’t meant to be an exhaustive list of deductions or types of incomes, but the general ones that you should consider with your personal situation.  It’s purpose is to act as a general guide for your appointment.

Having a guide to help you prepare for tax time will not only make you feel more in control of the process but will also allow you to get your tax back quicker and be more organised for future years.

If you are a new client and looking to get organised for tax time we strongly urge you to obtain a copy of the previous years income tax return in addition to our checklist, so we may review the information for ongoing deductions such as depreciation.

Should you require more tailored advice, or just want to chat further, our friendly team of professionals here at JSM Accounting group would be more than happy to discuss your needs. Feel free to contact our office and connect with our team of tax experts.
